One of the group's main projects is related to educational text mining, a technique used to identify relevant terms and relationships in texts. The project's  flagship is its text mining tool called Sobek, which has been used in several applications in different educational settings, such as elementary school, higher education and distance learning. The tool is distributed freely and can be downloaded from Sobek's own website.

Another project consists in the implementation of a tool to support the development of projects. The activities proposed by the tool, called Toth, allow students to create projects related to a subject chosen by the teacher. During this process, the tool suggests related materials that are updated in real time, according to the text written by the student. The tool also encourages collaboration through message exchange, comments and suggestions of related projects. More information can be found in Toth's own site.
